User Submitted Learning Resources Woodshop Toys U.S. Map Puzzle ReviewsDate: 2008-02-23 My daughter loves it!!! We got this puzzle for my daughter after having bought her a much less expensive one that didn't last very long. This was one of the best educational purchases that we have made for our 4 year old daughter. She will dump the pieces out in the middle of the living room floor and put it back together 3 or 4 times in a row. She loves it!! Date: 2008-02-16 map puzzle Was going to hold off giving this puzzle to my 2 year old but decided to go ahead & give it to her anyway. With assistance, she is able to complete the puzzle. She really enjoys it. It has obvious educational value and it is very durable. Thinking of introducing the capitals to her soon. Great puzzle! Date: 2007-11-22 Fun learning tool This is a colorful and durable puzzle that teaches basic American geography. The wood makeup of the puzzle ensures a more durable product than one made with standard cardboard materials that are used on most puzzles. Most 1st graders will enjoy mastering the puzzle and pointing out the states they have been to. Date: 2007-07-22 Fantastic!!! This was a great deal for a puzzle so I went for it. My twins had just turned 3 a few weeks before and they LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this puzzle!! They are at the point of learning all of the states but as they get older, they will be able to learn to capitals because they are printed on the base. It has helped with letter recognition, state names and locations, plus it's a puzzle. They finish it and start all over again! Daddy is a pilot so they are able to see where he is spending the night...keeps us all involved with his work! I can't say enough great things about it! Awesome purchase! Date: 2007-07-02 Good Puzzle For ages 5+ I bought this puzzle for my kids ages 4 and 8. The recommended ages are 3-6. It would be hard for me to imagine a 3 year old being able to make this puzzle. My 4 year old is good at puzzles and can do 40-50 pieces fine on her own. This puzzle has such small pieces and they slide around when you are trying to put them in place, it is frustrating for her little hands. My 2 kids working togther do this puzzle fine or my 4 year old with a little adult help to hold the pieces in place. I certainly like the puzzle that teaches geography and well as motor skills, I just wish it was bigger or each piece fit into a slot. Overall i recommend the puzzle, I just think it would be better for a 5-8 year old range.
