Awesome toy!
I bought this for my 3 year old daughter because I want her introduced to all sports; whether she chooses to go with a specific one years from now it all up to her, but I am doing my part. I cannot speak highly enough about this basketball set. It's GREAT! Even adults can join in with kids in playing with this! I have read more than one review saying that the rim/hoop keeps falling out... my suggestion is MAKE SURE IT'S IN ALL THE WAY! You will hear a click letting you know it's securely in, not to mention you can tell by looking at the back of it. It should be flush against the backboard. I hope that those few reviews won't hinder another parent's choice in purchasing this wonderful and family friendly toy! I give it 5 stars all the way!

Going to buy this for my son's first Christmas
I have never seen so many good reviews for a product. My husband is 6'5" and plays basketball, so obviously our son is going to be groomed for this sport. He is only 10 months old but I wanted to get this for his first Christmas. I am impressed with the great reviews and can't wait to get it! I'm sure my husband and I will have as much fun with it as our son Jalen.

WONDERFUL, STURDY TOY
We bought this for our 1st child when he was 1 1/2 yrs. old, that was 9 years ago! For the first few months, we kept it in the living room, then we moved it outside. It was outside from then on, except for the winter (we live in a snowy area). It survived very well, and finally bit the dust last spring when the rim was bent down and also cracked from falling over and hitting the driveway one too many times, because 9 & 10 yr. old boys were playing with it! (we had water in the base for a while, but then the kids dumped it out.) All 3 of my kids, as well as the neighbors, loved playing with it. The one drawback was that the soft rubber ball that comes with it popped years ago and we couldn't find an identical replacement, but found that a child sized (hard) basketball fit in the hoop as well. Also, by leaving this out in the sun for months at a time, the plastic hoop faded and probably weakened, but the rest of it was still in great shape when it went to the curb.

Great beginning basketball set
Our son (now 22 months old) got this basketball set when he was 18 months old. Made entirely of plastic, I had doubts about its durability. Sure enough, our son thought that hanging on the rim and bending it down was the object of the game. It took about a week to change his focus from the rim to putting the ball in the hoop. He has progressed from laying the ball in the hoop to short set shots.
After 4 months, the rim has been bent down a little, but the basketball set is still functional and fun.
After our recent move, we lost the piece that allows height adjustment. We were able to order a replacement from the Little Tike's website. Nice.
Oh, 1 more thing. Dad and Mom have a good time playing with the basketball set too. I recommend it.

We all love it!
We bought this as the main gift for our daughter's 1st bday and boy did we get a deal! First of all, this is fun for the whole family, we love taking turns helping her score one! The rim is flexible and has never popped off while she pulled on it making a dunk. The base can be filled with sand or water and makes for extra sturdiness. We have it empty right now, cause we keep it in the living room and although it has fallen a few times due to rowdy behavior, it has never hurt my precious 2 yr old. The adjustable height is my favorite feature, as it grows with the child. The shortest height offered my little one great encouragement as she can easily make a basket and a dunk now, so it is time to move it up. This has got to be one of the best bargains out there because it will last forever!
