She is 17 months old and has no problem climbing onto the platform or sliding down. It is very sturdy and durable. It is just the right size to keep in her toy room. We absolutely love it and would buy it again! Date: 2008-12-27 Great Product We have had this for almost 3 years now and it is still in great shape! We bought it for our now 4 year old when he was 1. Now our 2nd child who is 1 enjoys playing on it as well with the 4 year old. The 4 year old is getting a little big for it but he loves climbing on the outside edges which holds his weight and shows no signs of wear or buckling. Very, very, sturdy and easy to assemble. Still looks new after all these years...granted we keep it inside. So can't comment on weather resistance, fading, molding, etc. Would definitely recommend this product to anyone with small children. Date: 2008-11-17 A kid-sized place in an adult-sized world. I got this for my 18-month-old (as of this writing) girl and she took to it like a fish to water. Until I set this up for her I never stopped to think about how difficult it must be for a small child to get around in an adult world. Everything in the house is adult-sized and could be intimidating to children. My little girl often tipped over the dining room chairs in order to climb into the small space that's between the legs, so I thought something like this would be perfect for her. I was right - more right than I thought I'd be. She practically leapt into the climber and now spends most of her play time in and around it. She's just tall enough to climb up on the ledge and slide down but is not yet ready for climbing up the sides, though she knows the steps and grips are there. The unit is made of durable blown plastic with a nice neutral color and a grippy stone-like texture, making it easier for small hands to grip. The door and slide are red plastic with a smooth finish. The platform is green with a similar grippy texture, and has slots in it for drainage and handholds for gripping and climbing. Assembly is easy for one person but can be made easier with a second person. The unit is made up of seven pieces which slide together with a minimum of effort and no tools required. The manufacturer says this can be used indoors and outdoors. When used indoors on a wood floor my little girl can easily push it around; some carpet tape on the bottom of the four frame pieces solved that problem. Like virtually all toys of this nature, when used outdoors you can expect a certain amount of water to find its way inside. There are drain plugs in various places but I've found it to be a lot easier to simply drill a does get inside it will automatically drain out. The only other modification I made to this toy was placing a small Velcro dot on the bottom corner of the door and door frame. Although the door stays in place without it, my little girl would often bump into it from the inside which would make it swing open a little, so she'd stop what she was doing to re-close the door. Adding the Velcro provides just enough tension on the door so that slight bumps don't affect the door. I really have nothing bad to say about this! The Kangaroo Climber has immediately become my little girl's most favorite toy and we all have a great time playing with it. (Hide and seek is especially fun when she hides under the platform.) My only real complaint is the cost but it's not out of line with other toys of this nature so I can't fault the manufacturer too much over it. Date: 2008-10-05 good climbing toy Bought this for my grandaughter age 18 months. Need to supervise so she won't fall backwards. She likes it and it is very durable. I think she will definely use it more as she grows. Again great service from Amazon.com! My grandaughter is now 20 mounths and this climber is my best investment. She loves it!!! Now she is more stable and not as much of a toddler. She is on it all day long. It is such good exercise for her. We add a blanket and she thinks it's a tent. I would be lost without it. A 10 star product now! Date: 2008-09-23 Fun My kids enjoy this climber. It is great for my son of 11 months as well as my daughter of 2 years.
