Date: 2006-10-04 Excellent learning materials The material is excellent and the CD inexpensive. My daughters are excited and I enjoy reading/playing with them using the CD. Date: 2005-09-12 Reader Rabbit I can read with phonics is great! My Children 3 and 5 love the Reader Rabbits. This RR is fun for my 5 year old, and I can help my 3 year old play it as well. Date: 2004-09-23 works fine on XP Another reviewer here claims that I can Read With Phonics does not install easily on Microsoft Windows XP. NOT TRUE! I have XP and every Reader Rabbit game works perfectly on it. I own just about everyone out there, and my son (age 5) is a great fan of the reader rabbit software. This game does an excellent job of teaching reading and phonics in a fun way. If you have a child ready to learn to read, get this game! You won't regret it! And you can get it so cheap here on amazon, too. I paid a lot more a couple of years ago. Date: 2004-09-15 Program good... but doesn't run easily on all platforms. It does not run in MS Windows 2000... It does not run in MS Windows XP environment either... ... at least not without hours and hours of fiddling. It WILL RUN on MAC with OS 9! YEAH! Hubby and I were only willing to put in 4 hours (including looking at stupid online help) trying to get it to run on one of our Windows machines. The disk will launch but not install. This may or may not be due to our having more than one harddrive and CD player having letter "F" designation. In any case, my advice is not to get the kids all excited and then sit down expecting a quick install while they are waiting... and waiting. It did run on our MAC and it is an enjoyable program. In fact, I will go so far as to say that it is an EXCELLENT piece of learning software. My advice, however, is to consider our difficulties in getting this 'older' software to run before you purchase. It might be better to wait for an updated version that will no doubt be out around Christmas time.
