Considering cost and size
I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said, but I just wanted to add another testimonial. My other 2.1 setup is by Monsoon. Sadly I don't think they're still in business. The Monsoons are a flat panel 2.1 system, so clean and uncolored that I would almost describe them as dry, but wonderfully so, like a good dry wine, a neutral palate to work with. The drawback to the flat panel is that there is a definite and small sweet spot. When you're there, it's heaven. But it falls off pretty significantly when you're not there. These speakers remind me of the monsoons in their clarity and uncolored sound, but they're just plain big compared to the monsoons. Not just louder, of course, though they are much louder, but just providing a much bigger soundstage. The subwoofer seems far too much for me, but with a separate volume control on the satellite it's easy to adjust to your taste. I don't think you'll run out of bass with these if you like it fat. I bought mine used from the marketplace, for half the new price. I considered the new price out of my budget. Having listened to them now for more than a year, I would pay full price in a heartbeat if they gave up the ghost for some reason. Time is a big part of the test for speakers. If they're colored in some way that can really wear on a person over time. It becomes obvious and taints the sound. These have passed that test. Nice speakers.

Great sound while it lasted
I've owned these for about 2 years and for the past 6 months I have been having a feedback problem from the sub-woofer. Even with no music playing there is a humming sound that comes from the sub-woofer constantly. The only way to make it stop id to turn the unit off, which means no sound from any of the speakers. Buyer beware! I'm going back to a name brand that I can trust...Logitech.

GOOD SOUND POOR QUALITY DIY PLUG WHICH IS EASY TO REPLACE
I enjoyed the sound of the speakers till one day I moved around the subwoofer and the DIY plug connecting the speakers and the subwoofer broke. Apparently, quite a few other reviewers on this website experienced the same issue.
I haven't used it for more than a year since then. Then one day I decided to browse for the replacement parts, and found on ebay a replacement cord, for $14 with shipping. According to the description, you just need to "splice the wires off and twist the colored wires from one cable to the other matching the colors as you go and then just tape them all off". Sounds simple enough ;-) So I ordered one immediately. Hope it will work.
If you want to follow my experience, just browse for "Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certified Computer Speaker System DIY plug", and the first link from ebay is the one you need.

PS: I received the replacement cord today. It was easy to fix (exactly as described), and it works perfectly! I am very happy about it. I also moved the speakers to the TV room (I did not have the sound system there), and it works so much better than the TV's own sound!

Awesome Upgrade
Had a pair of really old speakers before I upgraded to these. Wow! The difference is incredible! Booming bass, crisp sounds, no wonder these were THX certified. Only gripe I have is that the power switch is behind the subwoofer, not on one of the satellite speakers, but not a huge problem for me since I rarely turn them off, they're so good!

Great speakers
Prior to these beauties, I had the Logitech Z-Cinema Advanced Surround Sound 2.1 Speaker System. These are just as good without the hassle of USB attached USB controlled design. I am very happy with my speakers. I cant tear myself away from my computer now. I will definitely consider future products from Klipsch.
