User Submitted Snap Circuits Jr. SC-100 Reviews (cont...)Date: 2007-12-01 Fun and educational for my 6 year old scientist This toy provided a lot of fun for my six year old. However, over time, the little fan broke and pieces went missing. Besides the fan though, the pieces are quite durable, and it did last for quite awhile before we started losing stuff. I think he did get through most of the circuits - and I think it really teaches logic to build a circuit. You have to think about how the current is going to pass from one part of the circuit to the next. You have to problem solve when an experiment doesn't work. Good stuff. Date: 2007-10-25 A great birthday gift for a nine year old! We sent this to our nine year old and he is having a terrific time with it. There are enough activities to keep him interested for a long time, and he doesn't need a lot of help with it. So glad we found this! Date: 2007-08-24 I bought this for my 6 years old son. He is amazed with this toy. I recommend it for that parents with curious kids. This toy is highly recommended for curious kids. My 10 years old daugther is really entusiast with it. Is really easy understand the instructions. My kids don't read english (We live in Argentina) but the manuals are really clear. I really recommend this game. Date: 2007-08-23 Snap Ckt Jr review - SJ Very appropriate for curious kids who like to make things and experiment with all sorts of possibilities. Being an engineer I was a little concerned about the fate of the components when my son started designing 'alternatives' other than the circuits shown in the booklet, but the set held up fine. I consider this a must have for 8-10 year olds. Date: 2007-07-28 Clever and very well made My daughters, 8 and 9 love building these curcuits. They weren't paying a lot of attention to the electricity concepts until one of the circuits they built didn't light up and they wondered why. When they read the directions for it more carefully they realized that it was not intended to light up, to prove that current flows one way only. Chalk one up for the educational toy! I'm most impressed with the quality of the materials: with the exception of one chintzy switch the components are very well made--very refreshing in today's market. This product is well worth the money.
