User Submitted Banzai Falls Original Water Slide Reviews (cont...)Date: 2008-07-10 Banzai Fall Down First of all when I got this item, it was damaged. It had a couple of gashes like someone had opened it previously with a blade. It obviously had been repackaged. I would have sent it back, except it was way too heavy and big to get it neatly tucked back into its container and box. I decided to patch it up. The patches provided did the job, but the glue ran out quick. After that it was Banzai away. The slide is a lot of fun and my son had a blast. Because it arrived damaged I rated it a 3. If it had arrived in tip top shape, it would have been a 5. Date: 2008-07-08 "New & Improved" still falls apart I also bought one of these slides in the summer of 2006, and yes, the box was marked "new and improved". It lasted for 2006 and then fell apart about half way through the summer last year (2007). Same problem as everyone, with the sides, footholes and handgrips ripping apart at the seams. I thoroughly dried my slide before putting it away for the season and hung it up in a dry shed for storage. I agree that it should be more durable for the price, and was disappointed that it only lasted 1 1/2 seasons, but I also bought it instead of renting one for my kid's birthday party, so I ended up saving money overall anyway. Date: 2008-06-26 Great slide for the money! We purchased this slide in 2005 and still have had NO problems with it. We do limit the number of people on the slide to 4 and they are no older then 7 years old. We also ensure that the children are not jumping on the slide and only using it for it's intended purpose... to slide down. Date: 2008-06-11 Lasted 2 years.. We purchased this slide in May of 2005. It held up through 2 full summers which included 4 birthday parties. Ours failed after my oldest sons (9 year olds) party this year. The seams on the slide started to come apart and it won't fully inflate now. Since we used it for birthday parties in addition to regular use, I would say we got our monies worth out of it, but since we went to great lengths to take care of it, drying it out before storage, etc, I would have hoped it would have lasted longer. We have all boys and they tend to congregate at the top, so that could be a reason for the seams splitting, but as it seems to be a common occurrence, maybe not. Date: 2007-08-20 Waste of Money Bought this for my son for his birthday. Used it 5-6 times and it split at the seams. Kids had fun on it but for $50 a use way too expensive. Tried to call manufacter and sat on hold for ever. My step-mother bought one and it tore after 2 uses.
