Hear the engine roar as your little worker takes on the neighborhood's toughest jobs. Kids can stand or sit to move this "big machine" around the job site. When little hands push or pull the control stick, the jib moves up and down. Battery-powered excavator makes real engine sounds. Made of durable, rugged plastic. Adult supervision recommended. Requires four "C" batteries, not included. Measures 31.5"L x 9"W x 26"H. Holds up to 75 pounds.

excellent value
I got this for my 3yo boy. He loves it!! He scoops up toys inside and rocks and dirt outside. It is made of hard plastic, and works great. He loves the motor sounds and adds his own sounds. He is a little rough with the controls but so far, they have held up well. Easy to put together and and clean the scoop for inside play. There is also a bulldozer "scoop" on the bottom front that you cannot see very good in the picture, I think this is for keeping dirt from getting underneath the carriage of the excavator, a nice feature. Overall, I would recommend if your little on loves construction type vehicles.

biggest piece of junk- please don,t buy this backhoe.
This is the worst toy ever! I got it for my little cousin Georgie because he really wanted it. He was excited to get it. But after about five minutes, the backhoe stopped working. Georgie's Daddy took a look at it and tried to fix it. But he couldn't so he took it to the manufacture'r
of the toy. Guy said, "This is just a dead one." Georgie is very unhappy. Daddy too!

Don't waste your money.
We gave this toy to our Grandson for Christmas after purchasing it from JC Penny catalog. He had just unwrapped it from under the Christmas tree when he started to play. The gear for the back-hoe arm stripped after about 2 minutes. All the realitives were watching in disbelief.

Micro Excavator = fun, fun, fun!
I ordered this for my 2.5 year nephew for Christmas, and it was probably his favorite gift out of the hundreds he received from my overly-enthusiastic family. Its great for several reasons, 1- It looks cool! His eyes lit up when he saw it because it looks like a realistic construction vehicle, just his size. He recognized it right away from his construction books - He immediately screamed "Its an estibator!" (excavator)
2- Its easy to use - It took him maybe a day to really become good with the controls, which are easy to move joysticks. So, its not too complex or frustrating to work. By the evening he was transporting his Fisher Price Zoo toys in the scoop from one end of the room to the other.
3- Its easy to put together. Yes, moms & dads, aunts & uncles, it takes 3 easy steps. You just have to attach the scoop, plug it in to the riding part, and then pop in the batteries.
4- Aside from the scoop, the rest of it is kid-powered. So, He scoots and the treads move. It goes as fast or as slow as your child can handle. And, since it is on treads, rather than wheels, I don't think the toy could speedily roll down a hill. (although, we only played indoors with it)

Negatives - like any other toy, its kind of loud with the "construction sounds" but I think that's half of what my nephew loved.
And as for its durability - I can't really say, my nephew's only had it a week.

Either way, I am very happy with my purchase.
