User Submitted Kettler Cat Front Loader and Backhoe Reviews (cont...)Date: 2007-12-29 Kettler Bulldozer Terriable, poor instructions for such a pricey item!!! VERY VERY time consuming to put together! It took 3 able adults over two hours to assemble. There was 3 bags of parts with 3 very very poor picture instructions. All "visual" instructions which they colored parts that were not the actual color. Overall it is a cool toy but our son gets frustrated that the excavator has to be removed in order to ride it. He also prefered his tool bench Santa brought instead! Should have "listened" to the other reviews which complained about similiar problems. Knowing what we know now, we would not have purchased this item. Date: 2007-08-03 If you survive assembly... watching your child lose their mind playing with it will be worth it. The directions are marginal at best and would benefit greatly from some written directions and labeling the bags and parts. I am very experienced at building RC cars and helicopters and I had to keep referring to the drawings to make sure I wasn't doing it wrong. The rear stabilizer (under the excavator seat) could be sturdier and easier to deploy, but neither seem to be a problem for our son who is going on three. It would be nice if the locks for the front end loader portion could be engaged with one hand, but it doesn't seem to take away from his enjoyment. I do recommend this product, just make sure you have enough room to store it and patience to assemble it. (hint: some of the stickers are large and very thin in order to make the curves, spray a little mild detergent diluted with water to make positioning them easier) Date: 2007-02-12 Turn back now !!! Don't buy from Joe Brands! We bought this tractor from Joe Brands. It was a big disappointment! It was very poor quality and did not function at all as was described on the Joe Brands site. When I contacted Joe Brands and explained all the problems with this tractor they would not refund my money 100%. They refused to pay the return shipping to send their dysfunctional item back to them. They told me I had to pay the shipping and send it back to the manufacturer in Wisconsin instead of back to Joe Brands in Colorado. I am in Las Vegas and it cost me a lot for shipping to Wisconsin instead of Colorado. When I bought this item they sent it to me with free shipping. After I shipped it back to them and they received it they disallowed my initial "free shipping" and deducted the original shipping cost from my refund. I am out over $100 because of Joe Brands. IF YOU BUY FROM JOE BRANDS YOU MAY BE SORRY! Date: 2007-01-11 kid pleaser the package arrived damaged,and evidently pieces were lost during shipping, when they went to put it together they discovered the missing parts, my daughter called kettler,(not the internet company i bought it from) and they sent the parts out so she had them 3 days later, well somehow the instructions in the box that they ordered the replacement part from, was not the same model that was actually in the box, so the parts were not correct, well here we are 4 days before christmas, and the "show stopper" is not able to be put together, again my daughter called kettler and they shipped the parts out overnight, and the backhoe/digger was put together in time for santa to deliver it too a very construction orientated 4 year old,and i don't think he has been off it since he got it Date: 2007-01-09 Cat Front Loader It's huge and a little difficult to put together. The instructions were not very good. My 6 year old grandson who I got it for loved it and was fighting with the 2 year old to ride it. Even the girls wanted to ride it. It is a great toy for the yard and I highly recommend this for all children under the age of 6.
