User Submitted Fisher-Price Nursery Rhymes CD Player ReviewsDate: 2008-12-26 Defective Amazon won't let me give this "zero stars." We got the toy for Christmas, and it's defective -- when the toy lands on "Cow," it says, "Dog"! We didn't get a receipt and don't know what store it came from, so it was a sad waste of money from a well-meaning relative. Don't make the same mistake! Date: 2008-11-25 Easy to learn songs! My son loves this toy. This toy is almost two years old...and still works. Now the big button doesn't work, but my son just turns the "CD" himself. I have to admit, it's great, but annoying. He loves to bring it in the car, and it gets lost easily. When you turn a corner, you hear it going off, and it just keeps going off! Which is good for younger children, but hard on parents! We definately rotate this toy out with others just to get a break! Date: 2008-11-06 Entertaining for baby, slightly annoying for mommy First the good, my 9 month old is totally intrigued by this, it keeps him busy for at least 20 solid minutes. He especially likes the flashing lights. It seems really well built (I bought it second hand). I have left this switched on for hours at a time and the batteries last forever. Now the bad(-ish)...My son's favorite thing to do is hold the face to the floor to make the player 'spin', this can be pretty loud and I think he likes that. I find the style of singing on a couple of the nursery rhymes pretty irritating (Baa, baa black sheep - shudder). BUT I can deal with it. Thank goodness for the volume control! Date: 2008-10-20 Lots of fun Cute, solid, takes a child's abuse and still works. 3 batteries came with the purchase so it was ready to use. Date: 2008-10-13 Great for babies My son loved this toy as a baby (he got it at just a few months old). The music isn't too bad, and he liked the lights. He stopped playing with it, however, a bit after he turned a year old. By then, we had gotten plenty of use out of it, so I don't feel it was a waste of money. The sound quality does seem to deteriorate with time and the spin button sticks after a lot of use. I would consider purchasing this for a baby and not a toddler. A toddler would probably lose interest quickly.
