less than expected but cool looking
flimsy. I bent wires to hold planets on, then glues other end of wire into base, otherwise, planets can fall off easily. Motor is so loud I wonder if I got a lemon, but someone else complained of this too. The moon is cool, but battery door came broken....planet decals torn. Overall quality less than usual for Costco....but looks really cool nontheless!

One HUGE Flaw
I bought this prodct for my son's nursery. I was so excited to receive it (I want him to be an astronaut when he grows up) I was pleased with putting it together and hanging it, would have been better if it fit over an existing light ceiling fixture. The worst part is that the electric motor in it is LOUD!!! You can't even hear the audio disc that came with it unless you turn it up VERY loud. Needless to say I was really bummed, but way too lazy to return it and get my money back. Probably why its only 30 bucks. You also can't turn on the light without the planets orbit motor on.

Neat
Planets rotate on 2 tracks to give the illusion that the planets are all moving at different speeds (an effective illusion).

It would have been nice if the ring of Saturn were semi translucent plastic rather than cardboard.

Since Pluto has been downgraded from planetary status you can perhaps hang the Star Trek Enterprise orbiting the outer solar system, the Borg cube, or the Death Star (the geek potential is high with this...)

Really neat!
This is really neat. It lights up and spins and all that good stuff. The "comet maker" is really only a tiny flashlight... and be prepared to put some pretty good size holes in your ceiling... but it is a great thing to watch and very educational when used with the soundtrack.
