engaging and addictive (for me and my 7-1/2 year old son)
This program has been a huge hit at my household. My son wakes me up every morning asking if he can play Crazy Machines. The puzzles -- which involve combining a number of contraptions into Rube Goldberg-esque schemes to accomplish some task -- start easy, but eventually get pretty challenging. I frankly would have thought they were too challenging for kids my son's age, but he has really taken to it and solved them. Great for teaching problem solving skills and persistence! The game play is fun, and the physics are cool (though the graphics are a bit dated looking, it gives it a charming early 20th century feel). Worth every penny. When I told my son that there is a rumored Crazy Machines 2 (true), he looked at me and said "buy it!! please!" (I will).

My kids won't let me play
I bought this game "for me" or so I thought... until my kids took it over two days after it arrived. Both my kids, ages 5 and 9, sit for as long as I will allow them and play with this game. They have completed half the pre-written experiments, but their favorite part is making thier own. (My hubby is also hooked on it LOL) Definitely worth buying. This game re-enforces problem solving skills with simple mechanics and engineering. It is very challenging so it keeps you on your toes, yet has enough "easy" levels to keep the kids interested. The interface is simple enough to learn, as stated, my 5 yr old plays it. If there are any draw-backs (outside the professor who can thankfully be muted) we haven't found them! I can't wait til it's MY turn to play!

love this game!
i will admit that when i first bought this game, i bought it because i figured "oh i can do this without too much thinking i'll bet!". this is not a game you can do that; however, it is a pleasing challenge. my son and i have started to do these together and i find it's a great learning tool for him (he is 8) and a great refresher for me. it's great family time, not to mention thought provoking. i highly recommend it.

i love the sound effects and the game music! i also love that there is a section called "my lab" where you can make whatever you want from the objects given.

this game rocks!

Great entertainment for kids
The graphics are simple but good. After I explained the basics, [...] got the hang of it quickly and didn't need my help. There's a professor character that pops up periodically making comments that's a bit annoying after a while. The music track is real mellow unlike so many other action games.

Crazy Machines
A fun game with some learning for a younger audience. This game really makes you think until it hurts.
