User Submitted Radio Flyer Twist Trike Reviews (cont...)Date: 2007-06-06 A super trike! I don't know if this is a new product, but I didn't remember seeing it recently. It's a nice change from the harder to maneuver tricyles that are also much pricier. Yet it is a better quality than other trikes of its kind. My daughter is four and tried this out at the toy store. She instantly loved it and was super at getting around. When she's older we can twist it to the lower ride, and so it will last longer than other tricycles. Plus it looks great! Date: 2007-04-17 Large Tricycle - Great for older or taller kids I just bought this tricycle for my son who will be 2 in a couple of weeks. He is almost 35 inches and several inches too short for this tricycle. I am disappointed the manufacturer advertises this bike for 2+ years, but doesn't qualify it with the child's height needed to ride the bike. While the bike is adjustable, it isn't adjustable until your child is ready for the chopper side. That means your child has to be about 36-37 inches at least to be tall enough to start using this bike. My son was so excited to have his first bicycle, but is too small to ride this one. The advertising is misleading... The bike was easy to assemble and appears to be sturdy. I would recommend it for parents of older children (or taller 2 year olds). Date: 2007-04-11 Great Concept - Horrible Execution I have to start by saying my kids love this bike. I have a 2, a 4, and a 6 year old. They all can ride this bike because of its versatility. The problem is with the front wheel. And you can't have a working bike without a working front wheel. We bought this bike for Christmas, 2006. 3 months later, the rubber strip they call a tire, wore through, split and fell off. The plastic rim is splitting. Basically the front tire just fell apart. Our other trike, the #33 Classic Red Dual Deck Tricycle has held up just fine, with a nice solid front wheel. If your kids ride this as much as any normal, healthy, doesn't sit playing video games all day, kids do - then hold out on this one. Get something with a better front wheel or wait till they redesign this front wheel. Date: 2007-04-02 WAY BETTER than Big Wheel! We have the "Original" Big Wheel (not really the same as the original by the way) and it is holding up fine but the kids don't really like it much because the wheel doesn't grip so it doesn't go fast. We bought this Radio Flyer for my four year old and he loves it. He figured out how to twist it from a trike to a chopper and back on the first day. He rides it everywhere. It will last for a long, long time. It is well built and well balanced. And it goes fast! Date: 2007-03-31 Great Trike but should be rated at 2.5 yrs. on up This was a great item, durable, easy to put together, and nice grow with you item. This is not a good starter trike since there is no back support or seat belt. This is also a big trike even for my 2 yr old who is in the 95% for height, he could barely reach the pedals. I would say this is a great trike for a 2.5- 3yr old and one that has been on a tricycle before. I ended up forking out the money for the Kettler Brummi Trike and it is well worth the money! This will be great for when he is a little older and will love the big wheel feature.
