User Submitted Vtech - Nitro Notebook - Pink ReviewsDate: 2009-01-03 Misses some opportunities to be better I bought this laptop for my 4 1/2-year-old based on Amazon reviews by other parents with children this age saying it was great. It certainly has its moments, but I would add the caveat, so long as you are sitting at your child's elbow. It's hard to imagine a child playing with it independently, while still young enough for it to be called "educational". Simple touches, like arranging the activities so that the easiest ones appear first, would have helped a lot. But they appear to be in semi-random order, and I am left wandering through a cumbersome interface searching for things that it's possible for her to play. If you have a child who will let you hang over their shoulder (which my daughter, strong-willed and independent, doesn't always tolerate), and are willing to burn about half of their playtime dealing with poor design instead of playing, then there's some educational benefit to be gleaned in the end. Date: 2008-12-22 I didn't know this software still existed! We sat down to write a disappointing review about this product...but we didn't have to. Jared Binder's review already had everything we would have written. Yes, it was cheap...but a lot of computer items are very affordable now. When we turned on the computer, this tiny little display came up in the middle of the "screen" displaying software that we thought no longer existed. For an intelligent 4 year old, your money would be better spent on low end desktop computer. Date: 2008-12-16 Nitro Notebook is great!! This product is very cool and educational for the kids. My little daughter learn more english, vocabulary and few tips for math class. Date: 2008-12-12 My daughter (6) loves "her computer" We gave this to our daughter on her sixth birthday. She finds it great fun and interesting "working on it" both by herself and with us. She's in kindergarten and it has value beyond fun and amusement. We'd highly recommend this. Date: 2008-06-25 v-teck for children(pink) this was a gift for my 6 year old grandaughter. she thinks she has a lap top and loves it.
