User Submitted Melissa and Doug Wooden Sushi Reviews (cont...)Date: 2008-01-07 Wooden Sushi Set My 3 year old nephew loves his wooden sushi set. He plays with it constantly and has even opened a sushi bar in his living room with the help of a card board box. He really loves being the sushi chef and serving you what he's made. It's a great toy which is made well and easy for little hands to use. It has a lot of pieces to keep a creative, active toddler busy. Date: 2007-12-29 Super Sushi! My 10-yr old niece LOVES her wooden sushi set. The velcro is perfect, and makes all of her combination creations "stay put" perfectly, while she takes endless pictures of the various "plates" she creates. It's "AWESOME", in her words. Date: 2007-12-04 Great California Play Food Toy! I bought this set because it was too cute. I am a speech therapist and find that my language delayed young students love it. They love the cutting action and I have gotten "between" and "around" out of them (the seaweed wraps "around" the sushi). If your child like velco (and who doesn't?) this will provide many hours of fun! Date: 2007-11-21 My 3 year old adores this set Okay, so it may be unusual for a 3 year old to love sushi so much that he'll gobble down all the sashimi he can grab, but that's not the only reason my little boy loves this set. He enjoys serving 'sushi' to the rest of us on special occasions. This is an excellent way to introduce more exotic items into your child's play food/kitchen collection. The silver paint began to wear off of the knife after just a few days, but otherwise the set has proved to be very durable (we have owned it for 9 months now). Also with the concerns over pthalates in children's toys I love Mellissa & Doug's high quality wooden toys. Date: 2007-11-08 Knife splintered after 3 days of play I will continue to buy M&D products but I wish they would reinforce or perhaps use stronger wood for the knife. The wood on the bento box container was also warped and dented when it was purchased new. Also, it would be nice if the wasabi fit inside the soy sauce cup. Otherwise, I'm very happy with it.
