The "virtual pet" aspect of the Webkinz is very popular with my children. They love playing the games online & earning Webkinz money to then spend feeding their pets and furnishing their rooms with cool stuff. The option to play with friends online in a safe internet environment gives me such peace of mind. This is a wonderful toy! Date: 2007-04-14 Great Webkinz, Bad Price This is a very good Webkinz as the plush and as the virtual pet. It comes with a rare TV and other supplies. it is also very soft. The only bad thing is the price. Don't buy Webkinz online, the price can go up to $50. The real Price is $11.99, which you can find them for that price in stores. Date: 2007-03-11 cute concept Here's a quick summary of what Webkinz are.... Webkinz stuffed animals come with a code that allows the user to register the "pet" on a website. Your child can name the pet, decide it's gender, and then log on to play with it. So, you are not just buying the stuffed animal, you are also buying access to a website that gives you virtual money to buy pet supplies and virtual locations in which you can feed, groom, and entertain your pet. I am assuming while you do this the "real" stuffed animal sits alone in another room. The virtual animal has a meter that lets you know how happy and well-fed it is. If you neglect it, it will suffer (or at least become less happy). I suppose some could argue this is a good way to teach children about the responsibility of pets or to let them feel as if they have a real pet (but without the mess). Consumers who object to excess use of video games and tv, probably should opt for a traditional stuffed animal that does not come with a virtual counterpart that requires the use of a computer. Date: 2007-03-09 WEBKINZ KOALA ROCKS! I highly recomend this webkinz koala to everybody who has webkinz. It comes with a Wacky Eucalyptus Television. GET THE KOALA! Date: 2007-03-07 So cute! My mom bought a Koala webkinz for me and she suprised me. It was so cute because it was soft and fluffy. When I found out I grabbed the webkinz and adopted it online in about 20 seconds.
