Melissa and Doug Rule!
We love the Melissa and Doug puzzles, so when my 4 year old daughter received the calendar for X-Mas, we were thrilled. We do "Calendar" every day. We bought this one for another little 4 year old as well. My only suggestion, put the calendar in a place that your child cannot reach it without help. There are ALOT of pieces that you don't want to lose.

Fun way to learn - calendar, days of week, holidays, etc.
This calendar was the favorite Christmas gift this year. My daughter has changed it for each month of the year, including holidays and special events , a couple times, always leaving on the current month. Every day it is referred to for information about her personal schedule. She has become more responsible for her own time and looks forward to activities with a time frame in mind. Great product.

Good educational and activity
Overall this is a good educational toy. However I do feel there are way to many magnets. I think it would be better for there to be a net to hold them in instead of on the lower half. But there are a lot of choices including holidays or celebrations that the child may not be familiar with and is a great opportunity to start learning. I do wish there were a few blank squares so the child could personalize a magnet.

Overall my 3 1/2 year old enjoys counting out the days for a new month and putting special magnets on. Its helpful in learning the calendar and concept of time.

Great way to teach days/weeks/months/years
My son is 4.5 years old and is learning his days/weeks/months/years. This is the one item that is really helpful to get this done. He has a lot of fun picking the squares for the events during the week. Overall a very affordable and effective way.

Are you tired of your preschooler asking "what day is it today"???
Good product, typical M&D product which is my favorite choice for my children. The magnets are nice and I'm trying to figure out how to get more of the same (for example weekly music lessons). The squares are also pretty small so if two occasions were on the same day (first day of spring and your child's birthday) you would have to be creative. Magnets for parents and siblings should be included rather than obscure holidays.

My 4 year old loves it and is quickly learning the concepts of a calendar. No complaints here...
