Good Game
My son turned 4 the month that we received this game. It was very easy for him (he knows his shapes and colors) and I think he is too advanced for the game to be of any educational value to him. It reinforces "waiting your turn" and being a good loser (he's an even worse winner, yelling "I won, I won"). He seems to win more than he loses. He loves the game, but I think it would be better for younger kids who do not know their shapes and colors.

Game is good but NO BOX for storage!!!
Great idea behind the game and my 2 year old likes dispensing the shape pieces out of the castle, however probably nobody realizes until after you open it up that there is no box to keep it in. The packaging gets torn up and you wouldn't be able to use it anyway. The shapes don't all fit in the castle for storage, plus you also have 4 gingerbread men with no place to put them as well! So I finally had to put all the pieces in a large zip-loc bag.

Great introduction to Board Games
I bought this for my daughter when she was 23 months old. She was in the process of learning her colors and shapes and I thought this game would help. She absolutely loved the game itself. Pulling the little lever to make the pieces shoot out was so much fun for her. At 23 months, she was too young to really play the game as it was intended but we used it as a learning tool and I would help her match the pieced to the boards and have her say the shapes and colors.
As she has gotten older I've started to teach her how to actually play the game according to the rules and it has really helped to teach her how to 'take turns'.

The castle itself is very durable. When I first opened the box I took one look at the lever and thought that it would be broken in no time. But it has withstood a lot of pummeling from my daughter and her young
cousins.

As for STORAGE: All the shape pieces fit into the castle and there is a place in the back of the castle for the gingerbread men boards to sit in. It stores very well this way.
Another cool feature is that the instructions are printed on the back of the gingerbread men so you can't lose them or have to keep up with an instruction sheet.

The only thing I didn't like about the game is that one of the shapes is kind of a 'club' shape that is difficult to describe to a toddler. I wish that Hasbro had just stuck to standard shapes for the game pieces.

Overall, I am really happy with this purchase and would definitely reccomend it for the toddler/pre-school crowd

Great toy to teach colors and shapes
Great game to teach colors, shapes and taking turns. I bought this for my daughter when she was 2 years old and she really enjoyed it. She learned colors and shapes and how to take turns which at 2 was a little hard at first. Now at 3 years of age she still loves this game.

Fun game for preschool age!
I purchased this for our grandchildren...and they love it! I just ordered another as a gift. Nicely done!
