User Submitted Jakks EyeClops Bionic Eye Reviews (cont...)Date: 2008-06-09 Fun idea We bought this for our 5 year old son as a birthday gift. This was VERY easy to set-up. It was nice that we didn't have to read a 20 page manual to figure out how it worked and my son was able to start exploring right away. My only complaint is that everything we looked at was the same bluish gray color. It didn't matter if we were looking at a penny or the hair on your arm-- there was no discerning color difference. We also had problems exploring anything alive. We tried to look at an ant, but it kept moving around inside the included container-- so it was impossible to focus on. I think as our son gets older, his curiosity to explore ore will grow. However, at this age his attention span is a bit short. So, we put it away for now but can easily set it up again when he's looking for something to do. Date: 2008-05-31 Over priced, boring after a short time I was very disapointed with this toy. My grand child was bored with it very quickly. It can be improved, and made with more options. It was way overpriced, for what you get! Would not recomend, unless they improve on the design. Date: 2008-05-19 A great educational toy! I purchased the eye clops a few months ago for my daughter and it was a big hit! Despite some reviews stating it is hard to use, I very much disagree. Compared to a "regular" microscope, this is easy to focus and use even for children. Simply turn the eye right or left and the item you are trying to view will either become clearer or fuzzy; if it becomes increasingly fuzzy, you simply turn in the opposite direction slowly until it comes into focus. The picture displayed on the television is fascinating to children and even adults. We have viewed bugs in live motion, our clothes, our skin, furniture...anything goes. My daughter is 9 and was exploring everything around her, without help in less than 30 minutes. Date: 2008-05-12 Toy for a Grow Up This product was purchased for my wife for her 24th birthday. It seems like every night she fires up the eyeclops and find something to look at whether it be burnt skin, the cat's fur or other various items around the house. This toy is fun but can tire after each session as you run out of things to magnify. It is fun looking around the house and thinking "I wonder what that looks like magnified." Overall, it is a great toy for children and adults who are very curious about the world beyond the magnifcation of our eyes. Date: 2008-05-10 Entertaining and educational, but for a short while My kids were very excited about this toy, but after they have seen all the pennies, the carpet strands, hair, newspaper, fabric and a bunch of other stuff that you can get magnified the excitement wore off and now it just sits on the shelf. I think it would be great at a school where all the kids can use it. For one family it's a waste of resources. It works great, however, good quality product.
