When the AllSpark was destroyed, the war against the Decepticons ended in one stroke. Optimus Prime was bathed in the power of the shattered AllSpark. The gaps in his armor gleam with ancient energy, his eyes and voice pulse with power. He has become a living receptacle of the creative power of the AllSpark, capable of healing or destroying with the merest thought. Despite this, he remains dedicated to peace. As a symbol of this dedication, he has altered his exterior decorations to match the ones he bore as a young leader, before the beginning of the war.

Don't mess with this mighty hero! With missile-firing cannons in robot mode and a conversion to a tough tractor-trailer truck complete with smokestacks in vehicle mode, this is one awesome Autobot leader! Measures 7" tall.

Good one
Didn't really like the movie truck design too much initially, but after watching the movie a few times, I decided I wanted it real bad! :-)

Overall, I'm really happy with it, though I wanted the version with the flame decals (out of stock), instead of Prime's 'classic' colors.

Good points:-
- Not too complex to transform. The instructions were pretty detailed and it took me about 5-7 minutes.
- Very stable on his feet! He's got nice, long feet and they take the weight of his body very well. Good balance too and very posable.
- Considering he's a 'voyager' class, Prime is taller in height when in robot form than my other voyagers (Classics Megatron & Ultra Magnus, Movie Thudercracker, Animated Starscream) and very close to height as my WingSaber ('ultra' class).
- Cab door that opens, autobot symbol on the front are all nice details.

Quibbles:-
- The front end of the truck folds up behind him like a 'back-pack'. Seen from the side, it looks like Prime really is carrying a backpack! I think those parts could have been detached and placed elsewhere.
- The smokestack-cannons are a bit long and sort of un-Prime-like. I've never seen Prime weild two guns, and I don't want to start now! What's even worse is when you store them behind his back in robot mode - they're way too tall and look like antennaes or lightning conductors!

Even then.... it's still one of my favorites.

Way more complex than product description describes
I bought this toy for my son's 5th birthday - he's a huge fan, and one of those kids who's into everything, taking things apart and generally tinkers with stuff. After several hours of messing with it, he finally got the hang of it (us adults haven't yet). It would have helped knowing that it takes 13 steps to transform from rig to autobot. Also, if pieces are moved too much in the wrong direction, they come apart (better than breaking) so you end up with several pieces you're not sure where they go. May be better for ages 7 and up instead of 5. But if you want to keep a kid who's always pushing buttons and taking things apart entertained, this should do the trick.

optimus prime
I bought this for my son's 7th b-day. He was very excited about it, but the first time he played with it, a piece fell off. We still can't get it back on. This didn't stop him from playing with it though. He still loves it anyway. Overall a great toy but I wish I hadn't payed 30 bucks for it. I would be happier had I only payed 15-20 bucks.
