Lots of fun
I bought the Lazertag Multiplayer System about two years ago for my son, who was seven at the time. These lazertag guns are terrific and lots of fun. I would say they are not only for young kids, but also for teenagers and adults as well.

They are made well and are worth every penney.

Fun Toy, Breaks Quickly
This was a bunch of fun when we first got it. We played several games and had a blast. Then after about a week, both guns wouldn't reload easily. You really had to force the plastic mechanism to get it to reload, but at least you could still do it. After a month, one of the guns could not hit the other gun except from within one foot. If you were two feet away, you could shoot 10 times and no hits would register.

For $250, this was the about the largest waste of money I can remember.

Fun for adults too
I bought 2 sets about a year ago for a camping trip with my husband, brother and myself. It was tons of fun and was used in an open space with plently of srubs and a few trees for cover. played with 3 people, it was the perfect set up.

We had no problems with the sensors not picking up shots when we used the outside setting (we never tried indoors). We also played on days when we had full sun, over cast and we played at night. We stayed in a comfortable range of vison had no problems with hitting targets, I would say we were in a space about 150 yards by 250 yards.

The guns however do make a lot of noise, this could be a good or a bad thing depending on your useage. We were playing within and through much of the camp sites but since the park was empty noise was not an issue, however during the weekend, when it was more crowded we felt too inconsiterate to continue playing with others near by. On the plus side the sound made it more fun to find your opponent when they weren't visable through the bushes, since you could still hear were shots came from. This made game play more realistic. It also helps to prevent cheating since you can hear if someone restarts the game.

In additions, sensor lights up when you get hit so your opponates know if they are hitting you are not. And a perk for you (if you are the best of the players in your group) is the sensor stays lit when the player is out, that means that the lesser players won't be able to claim they are out just to get you to come closer and get in a cheep shot.

Most of the features are well worth the money. It vibrates with hits and shots and the reload feature is pretty cool. But the life meter is little hard to read. once you are familar with the gun it's easy but you will have the unfair advantage over those who have never played with you.

I've seen in a few reviews people complain about the battery life. I used the guns for 2 trips this summer, over about a 4 day period (for each trip) we probably used them for about 10 hours. We did not have to change the batteries once.

The only down side I found was the weight, it wasn't so bad if you took the front part off to shorten it but then you lost the super shot feature. When leaving the front part on I found that it to be very front heavy and was a little ruff on the wrist because of it. It made one handed play difficult.

Over all it was an awesome investment for a little camping fun with whoever may join me on my many trips.

Great Toy for my 10 year old and 7 year old
This is a great toy for my two boys ages 10 and 7. At first I was thinking the money put out for this would be all for not, and the toys would end up with all the others in the closet unused. Not these lazer taggers... one of the best gifts Santa ever brought. IT gets the kids out of the house and playing with friends, gets them exercise and teaches them strategics and how to work together on a team. Yes it is a lot of money for a kid toy, but money well spent! Parts are durable but just like any other toy they should be cared for if you want them to last. I highly recommend buying two extra taggers so 4 can play.. much more fun!! I recommend this product!
