User Submitted Nerf N-Strike Vulcan EBF-25 Blaster - Yellow ReviewsDate: 2008-11-19 Fun Idea, but Junk The Vulcan EBF-25 looks like it would be a blast for kids to play with, but unfortunately the toy is "JUNK" Quality. I bought it for my son for his 8th birthday. He literally played with it for 2 hours. He went through about 6 reloads (it was a bit time consuming finding all the dispensed rounds and reloading the belt). One of the first problems that he had with it was that the belt would not always advance after firing. I tried it and found that if I "gently" pulled on the belt, it would help it to advance to the next round. He tried it, pulled just a little too hard (nothing dramatic - just a bit harder than "gentle"), and that was it, it's broke!!! Something internal broke or stripped. Now the gun just makes a horrible noise when trying to fire and it won't advance the belt at all. It won't even manually fire single shot rounds now. I gave it to him at about 5:30, and between 7:00 - 7:30, it was done! Conceptionally, it's a fun toy. But man, if it's made for young boys to play with, it needs to be tough enough for a scrawny kid to play with! For $35+, it needs to last a bit longer than a couple of hours. I bought one for my 6 yr-old grandson and then had to buy another so we could lay down interlocking fields of fire off the front porch - the neighborhood is far more peaceful today ! The Vulcan is a little heavy for him, so we taught him how to aim and fire using the tripod. It tends to chew up batteries too quickly, but all in all, what a great weapon for a grandson - Date: 2008-11-11 Fun and awsome,but breakable. Ok so I got one and it was pretty cool,I did not shoot it alot at the time.A few days later I turn it on and start shooting it and the belt kept jamming,I look at it and it looked like it was catching on something.So I lift the belt and push the trigger and the piston jams,great.A warning, never lift belt while its feeding.A few weeks later I got another one and a freind of mine shot it and the same problem happend,but he did not lift the belt.It really is a good gun I wouldnt rate it 5 stars if it was not But I question how durable it is.I plan to get another one sometime.Sorry, I dont mean to complain.This gun is nice {despite the belt sometimes not working}it really is powerful.I think it works better on its tripod sitting in place like a battle station.It feeds the whole belt fast,so its best to get lots of refills {walmart is best for refills 7.99+tax}.I also think suction dart refills are good for it Oh,thats another thing the vulcan can use any micro dart.I havent used it for dart tag,but I think it would be good for that to.anyhow it really is a good nerf gun,just remember to take good care of it. Date: 2008-10-18 Sorry, Not All It's Cracked Up To Be Our 10 year-old used his money, after saving for a period of time, for the Nerf Vulcan. The commercial did a perfect job hooking him, and from an adult viewpoint it certainly looked awesome. We got the bulky box home, unpacked everything,and his expectations were shattered in less than two minutes. The ammo belt kept jamming. A call to the company got us a response of "this can and will happen." We carefully packed all components back in the box, returned to the store, and exchanged it as was suggested. Take two yielded the same results. Back to the box store, this time for a refund. He's quite disappointed as he has a number of Nerf gun type products and was really looking forward to the fun factor others seem to get out of it. We certainly envy those who state they've had no difficulties.
