Look what's cookin' in Elmo's Restaurant -- an entire world of pretend-play possibilities! This two-sided restaurant comes with a working microphone, cash register and play money. Little chefs can turn the chunky Bert and Ernie knobs to hear fun phrases that will make them giggle. Place the pot on the burner to hear realistic bubbling sounds and hear sizzling sounds with the pan. Press on the cutting board to hear chopping sounds, and press the bell for a delightful "ding!" Elmo talks when you take the spatula out of this hand. When the cooking is complete, turn to the kitchen's Grover side for dining fun. Take the menu out of Grover's hand to hear him speak, and open/close the refrigerator door for Oscar phrases. All play pieces fit neatly inside the unit's built-in storage spaces. Warning if this is being sent to your house as a gift for your child
I ordered this product for my 3 year old Grandson who lives with me for Christmas. For weeks he has been saying that it's the only thing he wants. He has even seen Santa already and told him that he only wants the Elmo Restaurant. I have ordered from Amazon previously and all items have been delivered in a brown, unmarked box so I felt safe in having it delivered to my house. Today the Elmo Restaurant was delivered to my house in it's original box, with a full color picture of the Elmo Restaurant on it and my Grandson was home to see it. Of course he thought it was for him and he cried and cried when we tried to explain that it wasn't for him. We came up with a story that it was being delivered to our house for a neighbor and we think that he believes it. This incident almost ruined Christmas for him. So be warned that if you're ordering it for a child that lives in your home you may want to have it delivered somewhere else.

Great for the Imagination
My 23 month old daughter played with this at her playmates house and loves it. It is set up in their playroom, and both she and the 3 year old played pretend for over an hour. It is on the top of our Christmas list.

Painful
My neighbors have this for their quadruplets. They leave it in the yard. Year round. I have learned to hate it (hence the high educational value rating).

The toy is apparently not fun. The neighbor kids don't play with it. It just sits there. I don't play with it. Some dogs use it for urination, but that's about all the use it seems to get.

It is painful to the neighborhood for its gaudiness.

Not a Monster Hit
This was given as a gift for my little girls' two year birthday. She absolutely loves Sesame Street but is not at all interested in this set up. It is not very large, the sounds are limited and loop quickly, the Grouch door falls off easily, and it is overwhelmingly tacky. The Speaker on the cash register does not work and the storage space is very limited. I suppose it is as good as any other kitchen set, although for the price, I'm sure you could find better. I do not mean to be negative about this product, just informative.
