The sound is a small chirping type sound that is not annoying to me. Most electronic toys highly annoy me.

It comes with a small amount of play money. Be aware that replacement money can be purchased at some grocery stores or at dollar stores. I also figured out that buying replacement plastic coins costs more than using real money!! I now let them use real coins instead of buying fake coins. Of course this is after my youngest stopped putting things in his mouth. If you worry about choking hazards just let you kids play without coins of any kind, with paper money.

My kids also love to put other objects inside this, little toys and such.

Kids who visit for playdates also love to play with this toy. I highly recommend it as a good investment as an open-ended imagination-play toy.

Another great toy from this company is the telephone.

The register is very big and bulky. One of the sticky rubber feet has come off already so it wobbles every time a button is pushed. We have had this only 6 months.

Gift for Grandson
Our three-year-old grandson wanted to take the cash register to bed with him after receiving it for his birthday. His parents convinced him to settle for taking the credit card to bed instead. He still loves it after six weeks, taking it out only when his one-year-old brother is napping. We're ordering a second one for another grandson who turns three this month. It's a great feeling knowing our gift is so loved.

Mine broke within two weeks
I purchased this for my 4 and 2 year old, but I had to return it after two weeks, as the open button would not work. I will replace it as my kids loved it. Fingers crossed the new one will last much longer!!
