Good toy - should be at least 2 yrs old to really enjoy
Grandma got this gift for our 18 month old. The assembly was a little more difficult for me (my husband had to put it together) - the plastic parts are not that cooperative.

After it was finally put together, our daughter immediately jumped into it. The only thing is that most 18 month olds can't figure out how to move with it - so you have to push them. Eventually - in 2 weeks, she figured out how to move backwards, but I don't think she has enough leg stregnth to move it forward yet. The other thing is that the space below (where the feet come through) is kind of wide, and she sometimes gets stuck down there. She is getting better with it. When her friends come over - they all fight over it (18 - 3 yrs old - especially the boys). The colors are bright, and the steering wheel moves and has a honking sound (and it also has a little toy storage area in the back). Our daughter likes it when we push her around, while she "talks" on her daddy's old cell phone. She still plays with it, but I think she will enjoy it more once she can move it forward on her own.

I would recommend this age group to really be children 2-4 years, only because the kids need you to move them, until around 2 years old. Educational value - I guess I gave it credit for just learning how to move your legs to move forward and backward.

Maybe Better for 2+ years
My son received this toy as a hand-me-down and it's in great shape (hence the 5 stars for durability). The problem is that at 18 months (or younger) my son can't make it move forward with his feet, only backward which is frustrating for him. I have tried to push him around in it but his legs are too long and get all tangled up underneath the car which was frustrating for us both. He's pushed it around from behind but would rather ride in it. He loves it and wants to play with it but I've hidden it in the far reaches of the garage until he's a little older. Perhaps manufacturer's age should be 2 years and up instead of 18 mos.

Gas cap woe's
My son removes gas tank cap and puts items to the inside of the body of this. There is no way other than to drill a large whole into the bottom side to get items out. All the neighbors have the same problem also. If left outside the car fades and collects water in the back open "trunk" area. If the water is not emptied before use; my son's backside gets wet. I suggest drilling a small drainage hole in the trunk. My son is of average height for a 3 year old and is just about too tall for this.

This was a good choice....
I bought this toy as a Christmas gift for my 3 year old daughter. She absolutely loves it...however, the steering wheel will not stay in place. There is a little plastic ring that is supposed to hold the wheel in place, but it doesn't. She gets excited, and the wheel comes out and I have to keep replacing it for her. I have tried a few things to make it stay in place, but nothing works. Aside from this minor imperfection, the toy is awesome and my little girl loves it!
