User Submitted Deluxe Turntable Scrabble Reviews (cont...)Date: 2008-06-18 Deluxe? I purchased this item to replace my old deluxe turntable Scrabble game (purchased about 15 years ago). The quality has come WAY down! My old game is much more durable, but was lost to divorce... Now, this replacement, although MUCH better than the standard board, isn't the quality I expected. But, the turntable idea is a great one for this game, and I wouldn't replace it with the standard edition. I haven't used it yet, so I'm not sure how smooth the turntable is going to be. If you're not expecting exceptional quality, it's a decent buy. Date: 2008-06-18 Dabbling in Language I love this game! The tiles really stay in place which is great while you're playing, but when it's time to remove all of the tiles it's a little bit of work. Date: 2008-06-16 Not very durable Scrabble is a terrific game-I am a college professor, and bought this version of the game to entertain some other professors at my house one evening. I love the turntable, but was very, very disappointed to find that the board itself is made of paper-not plastic like ones I have seen. Well, this board won't last very long. All someone has to do is spill a drink on the board, and it's bye-bye $30.00! Be sure that you store this game in a cool, dry place. If you expect that this Scrabble version won't last very long, you won't be disappointed. Date: 2008-06-16 Review of Scrabble deluxe This is a large Scrabble board which rotates. This feature is quite convenient. The letters are wooden, however everything else is plastic and cardboard, so don't expect anything with a "luxury" feel. The letter holders allow for 9 letter games (more fun!). Date: 2008-06-15 Shocked by poor quality Wow! I should have read the other reviews!! This board is VERY POOR QUALITY. It is made of cheap, lightweight plastic. It's flimsy. The grids are barely elevated, so the tiles slide around very easily. I love Scrabble, so this is very disappointing to me. This board is VERY overpriced for the cheap way it is made. It should cost about $20 at the most. I ended up buying another one I found at Tuesday Morning. It's only $25, and it's wooden with raised grids. They won't continue carrying it being they carry "close out" type items; otherwise, I'd recommend you buy it there.
