User Submitted Deluxe Turntable Scrabble Reviews (cont...)Date: 2008-03-15 Cheap Version of the Product Made by Selchow and Righter When my daughter married, she took our Scrabble game that we had purchased in the late seventies. The game consisted of an EXTREMELY sturdy rotating board, and the squares were held in place by rigid plastic sides that were high enough to keep them from sliding at all. This game has been played many, many times over the past thirty years, and it still looks very close to being brand new. I purchased this version a few days ago, and it is going to be returned as soon as possible. I cannot do justice to the difference in the quality of construction in the game we just bought and the one we bought in the 70's. I was so disappointed in the flimsy, cheap, unstable quality of this game. It is amazing that Hasbro would allow its name to be attached to a product of such inferior quality and esp. at this price. Once again, an American company has sold out its reputation by having its products made in China in order to have cheap labor, construction and materials. Hasbro has joined the ranks of many American companies who are knowingly fleecing the American people by selling inferior products made in China in order to make as much profit on an item as possible. By allowing this cheaply constructed game to be attached to the much loved Scrabble game name shows how little concern Hasbro has about the quality of a product that they are providing the American people. Date: 2008-03-06 I love the new changes, to an old game!!! There are two things that I love in this world....reading and playing scrabble! Now, imagine my delight when I saw that there was a scrabble board that (1) would not only hold your tiles in place, but (2) you could turn the entire board in the direction of the player whose turn it is. So although it is the same old game (the new scrabble games come with directions about how you can make "q" words without the letter "u"...although I am not convinced about that advice), there are definitely a new variations on the theme. I love my scrabble game and whenever possible I make guests play with me. There are no spills or movement at all! It's great. Date: 2008-03-01 So much fun to play! I love the turntable design of this scrabble game, it is so easy for players to spell words without bending their necks. The pieces stay in place unlike the cardboard version with the bend in the middle. I recommend this product for any scrabble lover. Date: 2008-02-27 Scrabble is Fun! Turn off the television and bring out the Scrabble game. It offers challenges and great fun. We have been playing it since the holidays, after a long absence from it when our kids were young and we would play regularly. We've come back to it and love it. A great game! Date: 2008-02-26 Best Time With The Family! My sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren just love to play Scrabble with me in several languages. We have this game in English, Spanish, French and Italian. Family togetherness and word power... what else could we ask for?
