Great puzzle/toy!
My not quite 2 year old grandson took to this right away! I worried that it might be difficult for him, but he is currently obsessed with shapes and was able to complete each puzzle very quickly. Although he could do it readily, it holds his interest for quite some time and he talks about the shapes and colors and the pictures they make as he places each piece. Definitely a keeper!

Great for toddler's!
My almost 2 year old really enjoys putting together puzzles. Great for learning shapes/colors. We have quite a few Melissa and Doug toys and she enjoys playing with all of them!

My twins love them!!
I have 2 1/2 year old boy/girl twins. There aunte bought them this puzzle set for Christmas and they absolutly love it. They will sit for at least 30 min putting the puzzles together then turning them over and switching back and forth. I try and ask them what shape they are picking up and using. It's very good quality too. I love them! I would totaly recomend this item.

Fun and educational at the same time
This puzzle is great for teaching shapes and reasoning skills. The wooden construction is very durable, and safe. Also loads of fun for children, who enjoy puzzles.

another great one...
...from Melissa & Doug.
Beyond the obvious shape, color & object learning, this toy is just plain fun! I'm a fan of wooden toys; the less toxic plastic in my world the better.
My preschooler son enjoys this one a great deal & will get it out on his own, dumping it all over the floor. The puzzles are two-sided & along with the shape pieces, stored in it's own compartmented box. I wish it came with a lid, either sliding or flap, but not having a lid does make it easier for my son to see what's inside.
The only downside, is the many pieces to pick up, but you can make it a fun game with your child by asking him or her to pick up first by color, then by shape, etc.
There are points of course on the angular pieces, but with some supervision no one should get hurt. Hey, your child can get hurt walking...so far, no one's gotten poked, pricked or banged except when my son throws the pieces around, as he does with everything.
A good puzzle set for the toddler in your life.
