Overall it is good.
Overall it is good. My son is only 14mos so all he is doing is banging around the pieces but I can see him growing with it. Only one of the pegs fits snugly like it is suppose to so he can hammer them in but the others are loose and a disappointment. After the Chinese Lead Paint scare, I worry about any product like this.

Do You Have a Lil Handy Manny In Your House? This Toy is For You!
I bought this toy for my 3 yr old son and he loves it. He especially loves it when he is watching Handy Manny. If my husband is fixing something in the house then my son runs to get "his tools" and helps him out. I think this is a great educational toy for any toddler boy. Introduces a hammer, screw and wrench. Well made quality product.

Terrific Classic Toy
We bought this for my 3 year-old daughter. She LOVES using all the tools and pieces and will play with it for quite some time. This is definately one to safe for future generations!

Cute toolbox
My son likes this tool box. I was a bit disappointed that there are only two "nails". I bought this box specifically so that he would have something other than my walls to pound with his hammer. Like many of the other reviews state, the screwdriver is a bit sharp. But, I just didn't give to my son, because he is only two. He does like the toolbox itself tho. He carries it all around the house.

Big Disappointment!
I bought this for my grandson when he was about 2 1/2. I has been a total disappointment, even at age 3.

Nails & hammer: At first, he really enjoyed hammering in the 2 nails into the holes in the side of the toolbox. But an strong adult needs to pull the nails out. I can't do it. He really hammers hard!

Hammering the nails is the only part of the toy that he liked, but he lost interest. Even at 3 yr. - I can't get him to play with it.

Screws, washers, screwdriver & wrench:
The holes in the side of the toolbox are TOO BIG for the screws. The 6 screws are over 2" long and there are washers that can be screwed on. However, it is so much easier to use your fingers to fasten the washers, so the screwdriver isn't needed. And it is useless to try to use the wrench to unfasten them.

*** A toddler cannot use the screwdriver while holding the washer in place all by himself. He doesn't have enough hands.

I called Melissa & Doug, thinking I wasn't teaching him how to use the toy correctly. The rep. said we should connect the brackets with the screws to make interesting designs or - I'm not sure what. But I did try to show him. No Fun!
