User Submitted Snap Circuits SC-300 Reviews (cont...)Date: 2007-07-30 Wonderful activity! We purchased this for our eleven-year-old son whom we'd just adopted from Ukraine. He had minimal English skills, but the illustrated instructions were easy for him to follow. He enjoyed seeing the finished product and quickly started trying to experiment and create his own inventions -- which brings me to my only caution regarding this product: It is possible to ruin the motor if circuits are put together incorrectly, so it is advisable to stick to the MANY published projects, at least until the child has a thorough understanding of how things work. Otherwise, be ready to dish out some extra dollars to replace a burnt-out motor. In my final analysis, this activity seems very engaging, and educational to boot! Date: 2007-07-26 Great selection for a young teen! My son just turned 14. He enjoys electronics and putting things together. He has built a number of items with it. He constructed a door bell, he built something that played "Happy Birthday" etc. Some of the things he did were outlined in the manual, others he developed on his own. I would say it was a winner. Date: 2007-07-10 EXCITING UNIQUE GIFT MY GRANDSON JUST TURNED SEVEN YEARS OLD. HE LOVES THIS TOY!!!! HE HAS MADE ALL KINDS OF EXCITING (FOR HIM) THINGS. HE IS YOUNG FOR THE AGE RECOMMENDATION, BUT HE SEEMED TO BE ABLE TO READ DIRECTIONS AND FIGURE EVERYTHING OUT. A GOOD, EXCITING GIFT FOR HIM. Date: 2007-06-10 Great for kids 8 and up Got this for our son and for 2 years now he plays with it on a regular basis. He loves it and is learning a lot about circuits. HIGHLY recommend! Date: 2007-05-20 Shail If you are looking at something for your inquisitive kid, this is the thing. I can't think of anything that is so hands-on and yet so easy to learn. I wish I had such toys when I was a kid. My 7 year old son was able to build any circuit without any help within 2 weeks. The experiments are well planned too. I recommend that the kids try out the experiments in the order in which they have been designed. Also a little bit of explanation from the parent/s as to whats going on (i.e., if the parent/s is/are electronics literate) would be great. All-in-all a great toy
