Puppy provides hours of entertainment!
My daughter got this as a present when she was 2 months old. Obviously she didn't show an interest in it then, but at 4 months she fell in love. Once she could sit up (semi-assisted) at 4 months, she'd sit behind him and chew on his ears. Now she's 8 months and she presses his nose, belly, hands and feet and she laughs and giggles at it. She also wrestles with the puppy.
It has 2 modes -- "sing and play games" and "learning time". For each mode, each body part will say 3 different things, so there is a GREAT variety of sayings, songs and games. In fact, for the first few days that she played with it, my husband and I were like, "We haven't heard that saying before."
For sing and play games time, it plays a variety of songs, including "If You're Happy and You Know It", "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes", "Do Your Ears Hang Low" and "Itsy Bitsy Spider." It also does "Patty-Cake" and "This Little Puppy Went to Market". Additionally, it says things like, "Got my toes", "I love you", "Sooooo Big", "You're my friend" and "Hug me."
For learning time, it identifies body parts and colors like, "Ear", "Blue ear", and "Yellow foot". It will sing the "ABC's song" too.
My daughter's favorite is when she presses its nose and it sneezes.
So far, it has held up very well. The only thing I don't like is it is surface wash only, and she chews on it alot.

Nightmare on Squeeky Toy Street
I am not a fan of talking and singing toys in general; but this toy is extra, super, seriously challenging to the adult brain. The sound quality is ok and the sounds and songs are trite and silly "I love you" "Yellow foot", but the real problem is that the toy is over-sensitive. If my 16 month old (or I for that matter) start the dog a singing a tune -- then any other hair of a movement might depress another appendage of the mutt -- and then the tune will change, mid-stream. Which means that if your toddler is carrying around this toy -- the dog will be schizophrenic stopping and starting songs and sayings and the like. Most toys like this are almost "too hard" for a 16 month old to push to make the sounds work -- but this is exactly the opposite. Of course every time the dog starts making noise, my daughter wants to hug it or pick it up -- which just makes the dog change its mantra, over and over -- interrupting itself... But it is very funny and over the top and if you can handle the sensory overload-- it is pretty silly. But it was a gift, and I feel really bad publishing this -- what if they see?!

CUTE TOY
I bought this for my grandson last Christmas, but he has never been very interested in it! If I held it in front of him and pressed the different parts he might laugh, but never a toy he would play with on his own! I got it just before he turned two and he has a 4 1/2 year old brother and thinks he can do everything he can. I think he is just too active for this toy. He's more about cars and trains! Would be best for a child who likes to sit and sing a lot!

annoying dog
My sister-in-law gave this to my daughter for her 1st birthday. The recorded voice on the dog is so cloying and syrupy sweet it can give you cavities just listening to it. Maybe others wouldn't mind that over-eager baby voice because a lot of kid products feature similar voices, but that's not the only problem. The real issue is that there's no way to truly turn it off. If you touch the OFF button on its foot is says "bye bye!" but then if you touch any ear, paw, nose etc. it goes right back into action saying "it's learning time!" or "got my nose, woof woof!" It's NEVER off. There's no turning it off. I've bumped into it crossing the baby's room in the dark after checking her in the night and the dang thing starts playing the "itsy bitsy spider" song at full bore -- of course my child sits up screaming in fright. I think the product is ill-conceived and if you are the sort of person who doesn't appreciate that kiddie voice, it WILL drive you nuts.

boring
My daughter got this toy when she was 9 months old. She has never looked the side it was on. Its kind of boring. However, my daughter has lots of toys so this one may be overlooked. She and I would rather have the money spent on a different toy.
