User Submitted Nancy Drew: Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon Reviews (cont...)Date: 2006-06-16 Nancy has downs! Ok, in this game, Nancy's very existence and direction is governed by small yellow arrows. If an arrow doesnt appear in that direction , you cant go that way, For instance, there is a traincar, in which you can only look at two coffee tables! This game is extremely poorly made, and is a blatent insult to digital entertainment. Instead of bieng able to walk seemlessly though a train and freely investigate a crime, you are constricted to whatever the lazy game programmers actually ALLOW you to look at. Never buy this game unless you like playing as a detective so stupid that she barges into haunted mansions without so much as a Derringer to her name! she has down syndrone!!! She tries to open a box by finding a code that wont even work, instead of just taking a screwdriver, and removing the hinges to open the box. nancy is a retard. end of comment. Date: 2006-04-26 Might be the best ND game yet! I've played four ND games so far and I've had mixed results. LTBMC is absolutely one of the games on the far "fun" side of the spectrum! Interview, collect evidence, solve puzzles (and not get stumped) I had a great time with this and recommend it to anyone! Date: 2006-04-06 Riding the rails to danger... Nancy Drew's 13th game finds her full steam ahead in pursuit of the ghostly legend of Jake Hurley. Jake had built a custom train that he and his wife Camille traveled on, but after Camille's mysterious, sudden death aboard the train, Jake, too, disappeared, the train found abandoned with the engineer dead at the wheel. The "ghost train" has been restored by socialite Lori Girard, who has invited several celebrities on the maiden voyage: television ghost hunter John Grey, famous historical romance novelist Charleena Purcell, hotshot detective Tino Balducci, Frank and Joe Hardy, and Nancy, of course. Soon after the train heads towards Copper Gorge, Lori disappears and it's up to Nancy to find out what happened to her. Along the way, clues to Camille's untimely death and Jake's legendary mine surface. The modeling of the train cars is a pleasant departure from previous ND games. Scenery whips by outside the train windows, and you have to hop from train car to train car as the ground speeds by underneath. Chandeliers sway from the motion of the train. There is loving attention to detail in each room: period photographs, stitched samplers, and aged sheet music all create a believable atmosphere. In addition to the train, Nancy has the chance to disembark and explore Copper Gorge, Colorado. There are several gameplay additions from previous ND games, including Nancy's camera cell phone and Frank and Joe Hardy (who have a relatively small role, although you do get to play as the Hardy Boys at one point in the game). Puzzles are creative, with some HerInteractive standards such as the "make your own sandwich" standby, but others (such as a music-related puzzle) were a welcome breath of fresh air that built on HerInteractive's solid reputation as a producer of non-violent, girl-friendly games that emphasize creative problem solving. Clues are just obvious enough without giving away answers, strategically placed and cleverly hidden. Overall, I thought the ending a bit weak (too many loose ends for my taste), and the much-hyped Hardy Boys underutilized, but the solid gameplay and gorgeous graphics more than make up for it. A wonderful addition to a groundbreaking line of girls' software, "Blue Moon Canyon" is sure to delight. Date: 2006-03-26 A breathe of fresh air! This game proved key to reviving a series several feared was staggering. Through innovative new concepts, such as the addition of the Hardy Boys and confining Miss Drew to a train for the duration of her sleuthing, even fans growing weary of the series will quickly fall in love. Perhaps most pleasant about the game was the delightful variety amongst the characters and their personalities. This game, by far, introduced the most widespread array of personalities I've seen in the series. I felt the game ended a bit too quickly, not in a sense of ease, but rather in the sense that I desired to continue playing! After this game I am very eagerly awaiting the release of the next game in the series "Danger By Design." Date: 2006-03-20 nancy drew computer games "The Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon" and every Nancy Drew game in this series (aside from the very first one)....has been so enjoyable for my daughter and me! I grew up a Nancy Drew book fan, and my daughter has read all the books. Now, we are fans of the computer games. We have not only had fun playing these games, but we have also learned alot in a variety of subject areas; from historical Mayan facts to logic puzzles. It's been so much fun! We collect the Nancy Drew games and we can't wait for the next one (Danger By Design) to come out! Thanks for the fun ride, Her Interactive!.
