User Submitted Melissa and Doug Stack and Sort Board Reviews (cont...)Date: 2008-05-27 Superb as always from Melissa and Doug As with all of the Melissa and Doug toys we have purchased we have found this one to be superb quality and highly enjoyable. This one was a gift for our niece and she literally has not stopped playing with it! Date: 2008-03-04 Stack and sort board The children in my daycare loves this toy. Teaches colors, shapes and counting all in one in a fun way. Many times throughout the day they spend time working and playing with this delightful toy. Date: 2008-02-25 Fun fun fun This is a nice toy to teach not only stacking but also counting and colors. We bought this toy and the bead and laces toy to help our daughter developmentally. She loves both toys and was able to work with both very quickly. I am very pleased with both toys and would definitely recommend this brand to any other mother of a toddler! Date: 2007-07-19 Highly recommended! My two-year old loves this toy! I mix up all the pieces and put them on the wrong posts and she takes great delight in putting them all back where they're supposed to go. This set is great for teaching/reinforcing colors, shapes and numbers. It's made out of sturdy wood like all the Melissa and Doug products and the pieces are easy for little hands to take off and put on. I had reservations about ordering this because another reviewer had mentioned that the pentagons were tagged with the number 4 and the squares were tagged with the number 5. However, I ordered it anyway and was pleasantly surprised to find that they have apparently rearranged the shapes to fix this problem. On the set I received there is one circle for #1, two rectangles for #2, three triangles for #3, four squares for #4, and five pentagons for #5. My only regret is that I didn't get this sooner. It's recommended for 2 years and up but I think with supervision it could be introduced from 12-15 months on. By the way, I ordered this with the Melissa and Doug Beginner Pattern Blocks, the Melissa and Doug Geometric Stacker, and the Lauri Pegboard. This stack and sort board and the beginner pattern blocks are definitely my daughter's overall favorites so far. Date: 2007-03-24 How about using the square for number 4? How about using the square for the number 4 and the pentagon for the number 5? They could also use the circle for number 1 and a crescent or semi-circle for the numbner 2. The worst thing about this toy and their clock is that some of the numbers match the number of sides and some don't.
