User Submitted LeapFrog Leapster Learning Game System - Pink Reviews (cont...)Date: 2007-12-29 it is a great toy I got it for my 5 years olf daughter at Christmas, it is a great toy, in fact she asked for it. I can say it is the best toy she ever had beside the V simle. I am using the adapter while she is playing at home and the V Smile car adapter in the car, it is working great. I suggest this toy for every child. Date: 2007-12-29 Great entertainer This was a gift for our 5 1/2 year old daughter. It was a reluctant purchase given the intense focus that kids have on anything with a screen and a knob, when all I'd like her to be doing is settling into a book (yeh, right mummy!) However, being forced to admit defeat, the Leapster offers a fair compromise and captivates the little users with its demands to follow directions (something the first school report had pointed out wasn't being done so well), as well as number and letter games + more, all combined with favorite characters such as Disney's princesses and Dora making this not so inexpensive purchase a bit of a winner. I'm sure there's a few more cold Winter afternoons after school when the Leapster will prove both useful to me and my darling kindergartner. Date: 2007-12-28 Education and Fun Wrapped in Pink My 5 year old daughter got this for Christmas. She absolutely loves it and has hardly put it down except to ride her new scooter and I even caught her trying to play the leapster while riding her scooter! She doesn't have any extra games with it yet but loves the 2 or 3 that come built in. The one I bought from here would not even come on and the screen cover was missing. We took it to a local retailer and exchanged it instead of waiting to get a replacement through amazon since they were sold out. I highly recommend this game and will purchase one for my son when he gets older. Date: 2007-12-27 Christmas Disappointment The Leapster System was the one gift my five year old was really looking forward to this Christmas. She was thrilled Christmas day when she opened it and saw what it was, only to be crushed when it wouldn't work straight out of the box. The unit would not power up, it was completely dead. Hopefully this is just an anomaly as most of the other reviews here have been positive. Amazon was quick to try and remedy the situation but currently do not have any more in stock so now I have to try and find it locally. Date: 2007-12-24 Leapster My 6 year old grand daughter loved the Leapster. She really likes the Sponge Bob cartridge.
