She LOVES this puzzle AND it helped her learn her farm animals and animal sounds. We gave it to her for her first birthday and she was a little young to actually manipulate the puzzle, but she still liked to play with the animals separately. Now, she's close to two and could do this with her eyes closed. The edges of the pieces look a little worn after a year, but all in all, it's been a GREAT toy! Date: 2008-05-19 THRILLED GRANNY My daughter-in-law said this is the best puzzle to date and that my two year old granddaughter plays with it all the time. She wants to buy more of them. Date: 2008-05-09 Fun yet educational! I bought this for my 10 month daughter. She's a little young to understand the toy's concept. Nevertheless she loves it very much. Each animal piece is chunky yet compact for her to hold, and she loves the bright colors. Fun way to teach them about farm animals. Her favorite is the cow! Overall, it is a must-have for any child in their early developmental years. However I'm not so sure how durable or safe the paint is, as she is teething and bites on the pieces quite a bit... Date: 2008-03-10 Perfect size for small hands My daughter is almost 18 months and loves this puzzles. The pieces are the perfect size for her to pick up and place in the correct spots. She also loves animals and their noises so this is perfect to practice both. She knows which animal is which and what sounds they each make. Date: 2008-01-06 PERFECT FOR LITTLE HANDS and BIG MINDS My son received this puzzle as a gift when he was around 8 months old. I figured it was too old for him. But i was wrong. He loved this puzzle from the start. the big chunky pieces were easy for him to manipulate. as he grew older, he moved from talking about the farm animals to fitting them into their proper places on the puzzle board. I believe this product helped my son identify farm animals and encouraged us to discuss them and their sounds. Now that he's almost 2, he pulls each animal out of its place, names it and its sound, kisses it then returns it to its proper place...followed by giggles and applause. I love Melissa and Doug products. ...they're educational and VERY DURABLE.
