User Submitted Disney Princess Shimmering Lights Ariel Doll Reviews (cont...)Date: 2006-12-12 just dont press the button too fast.... my 5 yr old loves it. press the button on her back and she talks and her tail lights up. but somehow my daughter found out thru. her older friends that if you press the button on her back really fast, it sounds like ariel saying something really inappropiate(ie, "you're a sl*t."). ariel is now put away for having a potty mouth. you have been warned... Date: 2006-11-29 Very disappointing toy! I bought this toy for my 3 year old daughter (who ADORES Ariel). It is a very beautiful doll. However, it is a bath toy that ceases to function once it is placed in the bath! Once she placed the doll in the tub a couple of times it's singing sounded strange and then finally quit singing altogether. Needless to say, my daughter was quite upset. Honestly, I am simply amazed that Disney ever allowed this toy on the market... Like I stated earlier, VERY disappinting purchase! Date: 2006-11-16 Great doll... for an Ariel lover. My 2 year old is absolutely in love with her mermaid doll, she carries it everywhere with her and it still works like a charm. I also would have given 5 but the directions weren't clear on whether it could actually go underwater or not. To be safe, we don't allow her to bring it in the water with her. Date: 2006-11-07 It is beautiful... I would have given it a 5, but it loses one point since i have to convince my daughter every day that even though the commercial clearly shows the doll under water, she can not get her wet. I think that the manufacturers and marketers dropped the ball on this one-if its not meant to be submerged say so, and stop showing it on tv submerged. If it is meant to be submerged, they should have taken precautions to keep it from breaking, so yes its a great doll-and very beautiful, but everyday i hat to hear, "Look mom, see, she can go underwater" Date: 2006-11-01 Beautiful Doll My 4 year old loves this doll. Day two, after putting it in water twice, the lights won't turn off so the tail is green all the time. I imagine the batteries will die soon and it bothers my daughter that the lights never go off. But the voice is still good and the other lights still work and she does still love it. I would recommend the doll but might try not putting it in water next time.
