It is alot of value for the price. Great choice for daycare. Date: 2008-12-16 Great sounds! My son loves this table and he just turned 2 years old. He likes all of the different activities and likes to switch it over to Spanish. I love that this is a table that he can independently interact with. Its even light enough for him to move it room to room on his own. Date: 2008-12-16 9 Month Old's Rating I just bought this toy an hour ago, brought it home to my newly 9-month old and he immediately pulled himself to stand on the table and almost tipped over the table! To prevent this, I put the table close to the couch so if he tried to pull himself up again, it would have something to lean up against. Other than that, he played with the table for about 7 minutes and then crawled away to something else. Maybe it will take a few days for him to show more interest. I will give him time and hopefully he'll get more enjoyment out of it. I can't lose because this was on sale for $19.99 on Target today!! Oh! Also, I liked the sounds and music but the music started making a "skipping" sound like it was stuck...anyone else have problems with this? I will put some more brand new batteries inside and see if there are any improvements...So my rating...? I give it a 3 out of 5 for good music but falls short in other ways. Date: 2008-12-15 Amazon Not Fair I wrote a heads-up recently concerning this item, but Amazon has opted not to publish it. Is it because I revealed that Target is selling this item for $19.00? Date: 2008-12-14 Great for infants and learning disabled I opened my home to foster an 11 month old who was severely overweight (30lbs) and an intellectually disabled 5 year old back in May of this year (2008). A friend of mine was gracious enough to gift me with this learning center after her 2 year old son was 'done' with it. My 11 month old LOVES music. She is now 18 months and 6lbs lighter, and partially due to the learning center. It got her moving, and when she learned to stand, it got her grooving. On one page of the center book, everything talks; "Up/Down" "A, B, C" "Yellow, blue, red" etc. Turn the center page, and the same buttons now SING. Lots of catchy tunes. The 5 year old is intellectually disabled and to our surprise, began picking up counting after a few months due to the catchy tunes, as well as his ABC's. The Leap Frog center worked more effectively than his special education teachers! (Which is saying a lot because they're working wonders, too!) My 18 month old is built like a brick house, and is able to push and turn over everything. She can turn the center over with ease and does so, several times a day. Ever after being owned by my friends son for 2 years, and then going through 6 months with us, being moved, turned over and practically thrown, the center works like new. Beside a little dirt and some color fading, this product is simply amazing. My only complaint would be that batteries tend to run out rather quickly when a product like this is so entertaining that it is played so often! We have several other non-leapfrog learning centers, and they don't even compare. This, as far as I'm concerned, is a MUST HAVE toy. If my friend has another baby relatively soon, and I am forced to give it back, it WILL be a toy that I will immediately purchase to have in our home.
