User Submitted Knex Value Tub 400 pieces Reviews (cont...)Date: 2007-12-26 9 Year Old Son Loves These These were bought for my son's Bday 3 days before Christmas. He played with them literally nonstop until Christmas morning. The only thing that surpassed them was the Nintendo wii for Christmas. Now, it's the first thing he plays with once I make him get off the wii. He is a boy that takes everything apart. He has created so many things with these. It's fun to see him build instead of take apart! Date: 2007-12-13 The Best Lego Alternative Ever!! I highly recommend this product for any building enthusiast. My 6yr. old boy loves this product since he is able to actually play with some of his complex creations without it breaking. This educational toy is worth every penny you dish out and it can even entertain 3 rowdy boys!! Date: 2007-10-10 Great for 6 year old!!! We got this for my youngest boy for his 6th birthday and he makes all kinds of things. This really helps him express his imagination. It's been 2 months and I haven't found a broken piece yet. Date: 2007-08-01 Another great toy I originally purchased this for my son who has a degenerative neuromuscular disease and has weak fine motor skills. He loves Lego's but can't deal with the "small" regular ones. I thought this would give us all an oppurtunity to play together plus make more than just "square" things. He loves it. He can put the bigger pieces together himself, and we help him with the smaller pieces and we make wonderful things. I also purchased the tub that has the 150 pieces with wheeles and things to go with it. We've made really neat things and he enjoys it. My 12 year old daughter loves playing with them when my son goes to bed. So I would recommend this over Lego's... don't get me wrong Lego's is still a good toy and they do work with K'Nex just make sure you have the Lego's brand as the generic Lego's won't attach. But this is a good toy for children that have medical issues as long as you supervise the play time. As there is small pieces they could choke on, and possibly get frustrated with because they couldn't put them together etc (My older son doesn't play with these just for that reason. He has the same disorder but gets frustrated easily and doesn't consentrate "sit still" longer than a few seconds. So this toy isn't for those children). But under fun play time it's great! And not many toys can say that for a medically challenged child. Date: 2007-01-23 A great introduction to this construction toy My 7-year-old daughter loves this tub of K'nex, and has now foresworn her LEGOs. 400 pieces does not go as far as you might expect, however; you may find yourself shopping for an expansion set soon. LEGO: * you can build houses * simple stacking approach * upgrade to Technics for 3D building * those adorable little LEGO people * wider variety of pieces and sets K'Nex: * 3-dimensional construction * more complicated trigonometric approach * you can build bridges * everything can rotate And I saw a K'Nex set that lets you join LEGO and K'Nex ...
