23 month old loved this shiny new red bike
My parents purchased this bike for my 23 month old son for an early 2 year old birthday gift. My son is a bit tall for his age (90th %tile) and he fits it perfectly with the seat forward. My only flaw with this bike is that it came with a crack in the wooden board which has the Schwinn name written on it. My father put the bike together and said that the screw/bolt was drawn too tight and cracked the wood. This part was already assembled when shipped to us. My son learned how to peddle in three days and is doing well on steering after a couple of weeks. He loved the tassles on the handlebars, and called it a motorcycle when we pulled the blanket off to reveal the surprise. The tires need inflated a bit, but the bike does not tip and is safe on our slightly inclined driveway. I would definately recommend this bike as a beginner tricycle for a two year old and up.

Worth the Extra Money
This was ordered last week and arrived in perfect condition. The bike itself is absolutely beautiful. It has a retro kind of feel to it, and our neighbor commented that it looks like the "Harley" of tricycles!

Contrary to other reviews, nothing smelled bad, including the tires. My husband put it together in about fifteen minutes, and nothing needed to be adjusted or changed. Everything fit together perfectly. We gave it to my son for his 2nd birthday, and he LOVES it! He can't peddle yet, but he loved using his feet to get it to move, and he was outside with it for about a half hour. We now have to hide it so he can't keep asking to go outside again.

It is extremely sturdy and adjustable for a child as he/she grows, and the tires should last a long time since they are rubber instead of plastic. I had read that this trike is very heavy, but it doesn't seem to be any heavier than any other metal trike we looked at. It is also very quiet, and the handle bars are sturdy yet easy to steer. Finally, the little bell becomes the cherry on top of this great purchase.

I looked at tons of trikes both on stores and on this site, and this one takes the cake. It is so incredibly sturdy and built for years of riding. It just dwarfs other trikes by comparison.

Twin Trikes
These trikes were very easy to assemble. They truly are nice quality. We purchased these for our twin grandaughters 2nd birhtday. They were a big hit with the kids and adults. We are still teaching them to pedal and steer, but they will have along time to practice. The seat is adjustable to grow with them. We liked that they were low to the ground, somewhat like a cross between a tricycle and big wheel, so as they learn they are not likely to tip over. All in all, great product, great price, great quality.

Poor Quality
As some others have mentioned, this bike looks great but is relatively poor in quality. Specifically, the tires and spokes are not well put together. With fairly light use, both wheels are out of round and rub against the fenders. One of the spokes has sliced into the tube and I have had to repair. Far too many issues for the very light use this bike has had. Also be careful not to base the use of this on the age of the child. My son is tall, 3 yrs. old and he is already on the last setting for the seat with no more room to grow.

Nicely made, sturdy, flashy, retro and fun!
This trike is well-made, and has a low center of gravity to minimize tipping over. My son received it for an early 3rd birthday present and just loves it. He askes me to ride on the back, so I space my feet on the edges of the wooden plate and let him peddal me around. It supports my weight when I stand that way and hold on to the handlebars with him. The thing I like best about it are the pneumatic rubber tires.
