good for taller kids
We purchased this bike for our 2 year old. It was only until his 3rd birthday that he was able to touch his feet to the ground. Great indoor bike. Only sad thing was that the wood cracked on the tire area days after receiving it. Not sure why.

Four year old son loves the Skuut Balance Bike
We gave this to our son for his fourth birthday. Within a minute he was whizzing up and down the drive way accumulating more speed and finesse with each pass. Recently he rode it to the neighborhood block party and many parents inquired about it (as it has no pedals) and all of the three and four year old children enjoyed riding it.

Skuuts are now made with more durable birchwood, just like the Like-a-Bike
The Skuut wood quality used to be questionable, but now they are all made of birchwood, which is the same wood that is used for the Like-a-Bike.

I have both a Like-a-Bike and a Skuut, and the new Skuut is of comparable quality for 1/4 the price. My kids ride either one interchangeably.

One advantage to the Skuut is the tire valves. The Like-a-Bike has German valves on it that will only accept ball-type air pump nozzles, not the longer ones that are found on typical household bike pumps and gas station air pumps. I have to take my Like-a-Bike to a local bike shop when I need to put a little air in the tires. I can just pump up the tires at home on the Skuut.

highly recommended
This will teach your child balance as well as get accustomed to speed without having to wean them off training wheels later. Assembly was easy and fast, and we were outside in no time enjoying this bike.

Great toy!
Great bike! My 2-yr-old is still a bit small for it (he is a smaller child), but neither of us can wait for him to grow into it. My 5-yr-old LOVES it...
